HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

The history of Century Textiles & Industries Ltd. is a rich one. With a commitment to excellence, the founding fathers ventured into the cement business. The illustrious journey began with the setting up of Century Cement in Raipur, Chhattisgarh in 1974. More plants were established in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and West Bengal producing high-quality cement, thus maintaining the high standards of BK Birla Group and contributing to nation building.

Milestones
1974
Century Cement was established in 1974 at Baikunth, Raipur, in the state of Chhattisgarh. The present capacity of the plant is 2.1 MTPA.
1979
Maihar I was established in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. The present capacity is 2.0 MTPA.
1987
Manikgarh Cement I was established at Gadchandur, Chandrapur, in the state of Maharashtra. This high-tech cement plant had an initial capacity of 1 MTPA which has been expanded to its present capacity of 2.2 MTPA.
1995
Maihar II was established close to the existing Maihar Cement Unit II plant at Satna, Madhya Pradesh. The present capacity is 2.2 MTPA.
2013
Sonar Bangla Cement, a Cement Grinding Unit at Murshidabad (West Bengal) was established with a capacity of 2.0 MTPA.
2014
Manikgarh Cement II was established close to Manikgarh Cement Unit I plant with a capacity of 2.8 MTPA.
